Hickory – The Piedmont Post Polio Support Group will meet on Tuesday, July 9th at 11:00 AM, at Corinth Reformed Church, 150 16th Ave. NW, Hickory in the Althouse Blg. (located behind the main sanctuary.) Polio survivors and /or family and friends are encouraged to attend. Anyone interested in learning more about this group is also invited. The goal of this group is to provide support, information and fellowship to enhance or maintain survivors’ quality of life.

Lt. Scott Hildebrand, Community Services Commander from the Hickory Police Department will present a program on “Simple Safety in a Complex World”. Participates are encouraged to bring any safety or security issues, to this meeting, for discussion. This may include traveling, home, shopping, Church, and even on the telephone.

An update of plans for Miracle of Hickory 75th Anniversary and mural placement (downtown) will be presented by Cliff Moone, Commemoration Committee representative. Mr. Moone also serves as the Hickory Rotary Club liaison for the Piedmont Post Polio Support Group. The Rotary Club International supports efforts to combat polio worldwide.
