Hickory – OUTright Youth of Catawba Valley is holding a fun, Amazing Race themed fundraiser on August 19, from 9 a.m.–4:00 p.m. at 748 4th St. SW., Hickory, NC.

Modeled after CBS’s Amazing Race, OUTright’s Amazing Race for Equality will feature challenges throughout the Greater Hickory Area.

The After Party will feature food trucks, local craft breweries and live music all while watching the competing teams complete their final challenge and cross the finish line.

“We’re racing to show the Greater Hickory Area is a place of equality for all individuals, regardless of race, religion, income, education, sexual orientation or disability” Mary Ann Dore, Executive Director of OUTright Youth. “OUTright’s Amazing Race and Food Truck Invasion is designed to be a fun event where everyone can come together, celebrate equality for all and raise money for anti-bullying efforts in the Catawba Valley.”

Teams of 2-4 individuals will begin OUTright’s Amazing Race in the Center’s parking lot at 748 4th Street SW, Hickory promptly at 9 am on Saturday, August 19th. Teams will need to navigate their way through an undisclosed race course with nothing but clues they win at the challenges to guide them.

Folks who aren’t participating in the race are invited to the After Party starting at 11am at the Center.  Admission to the After Party event is free and open to all individuals and families.
