Hickory – Join Carolyn Treffinger at Patrick Beaver Memorial Library on Tuesday, November 20th at 6:30 pm for a presentation about honey bees. Honey bees are a crucial component in the food chain in America. Estimates are that as many as 1 in 3 bites of food depend on honey bees. Treffinger will discuss the history of honey bees and explain their importance in food production in America.

Treffinger has been a beekeeper for 4 years and is the vice-president of the Catawba Valley Beekeepers Association. She is currently working on her Master Beekeeper certification and enjoys sharing her enthusiasm for honey bees with others.
