Hickory, NC – The Humane Society of Catawba County, a nonprofit animal shelter, is the perfect place to find your next furry family member.
At any given time there can be up to 300 dogs and cats between their two shelters, and with each adoption two lives are saved, the life of the adopted animal, and the one who takes its place.
Starting June 1st they will be celebrating Adopt A Shelter Cat Month, which is perfect timing given that it is kitten season. There are many ways the public can participate and make a difference in a shelter cat’s life, including: volunteering as a cat cuddler, making a financial contribution, donating commonly used items, fostering a family of kittens, or spreading the news about the shelter.
On June 9th, both shelters will host a Name Your Price cat adoption day. This fun event is geared to free up space in the shelters and find loving homes for longer term residents. It’s also a chance for people to come out and meet the cats , and see what HSCC is all about. The hope is to educate the community about the care that is given to each shelter animal. All adoptable cats are up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations and are spayed/neutered.
The Humane Society of Catawba County has two locations. In Hickory they are located at 3224 20th Ave SE, and in Newton at 201 Government Services Dr. You can contact the shelter directly by calling 828.464.8878.
