Hickory/Newton – The Humane Society of Catawba County has several events for pet owners, pet lovers, potential adopters and volunteering in March.

O’Doption Special:
Lucky you! During the month of March, HSCC is having an O’Doption Special. All month long ginger and golden pets will have a 1/2 price adoption fee. When you stop by the shelter be on the lookout for kennels with a shamrock, indicating that the pet is part of the special. Applicable to pets 6+ months in age. Some exclusions apply. Saturday, March 17th (St. Patrick’s Day): Fee Waived Adoptions On Ginger And Golden Pets

Item of the Month:
Kitten season is on the way! Help HSCC be prepared by donating kitten formula or canned kitten food. Each donation qualifies the donor to be entered into a drawing for a FREE Spay/Neuter surgery.

March 16th – Foothills “well pet” vaccine clinic: This clinic will be at the Newton shelter from 1-5:30pm. We offer low cost vaccines and testing to public animals showing no signs of illness. Rabies Vaccine (1 & 3 year), Distemper/Parvo, Feline Distemper, Kennel Cough, Felv Vaccine, Heartworm testing, Felv/FIV testing, & microchip. March 10 & 22 – HSCC volunteer orientation:
Be the voice for animals in your community! Join the HSCC volunteer team. All prospective HSCC Volunteers must attend this orientation session. The Volunteer Manager will give de.tails and information about all HSCC programs and services as well as the many volunteer opportunities. A facility tour is also included.
