Bad Hair (2020) Elle Lorraine is a young woman whose life takes a turn for the worst when her hair weave turns out to be possessed.

The Donut King (2020) The cautionary tale of Cambodian refugee turned entrepreneur Ted Ngoy, and how he created a wildly successful donut business only to see it fail, is the subject of this film from director Alice Gu.

Madre (2020) A Spanish mother’s anguish over the disappearance of her son forms the basis of this character study from filmmaker Rodrigo Sorogoyen.

V for Vendetta (2006) James McTeigue’s adaptation of the 1988 graphic novel about a vigilante and his relationship with a young woman he saves in the midst of his fight against British rule gets the Ultra High Definition treatment this week. All of the previous extras carry over from earlier releases. 

HBO:

Game of Thrones: The Complete Series (2011-19) The celebrated HBO series is now available in Ultra High Definition with all eight seasons housed in a handsome box set package. This new release includes all of the preview extras from earlier releases.

Tilda Cobham Hervey in I Am Woman

Josie and the Pussycats (1970-71) All 16 episodes of the beloved animated adaptation of the comic book series have been remastered in high definition. Extras include a featurette.

The Mortal Storm (1940) One German family experiences Hitler’s rise to power in this WWII drama featuring an impressive cast, which includes Margaret Sullivan, James Stewart, Robert Young and Robert Stack. Extras include an MGM cartoon, a short and the theatrical trailer.

Arrow:

Lake Michigan Monster (2018) Shot in black and white and on a shoestring budget, this horror comedy is the tale of a colorful crew who set out to set to slay the creature of the film’s title. The film won the Audience Award for Best International Feature at the 2019 Fantasia Film Fest. Extras include interviews, effects breakdown, multiple commentaries and the film’s trailer.

Quiver Films:

I Am Woman (2019) The biopic of late 70s singer and feminist icon, Helen Reddy, is anchored by a terrific performance by Tilda Cobham Hervey and is now available on disc. There doesn’t appear to be an extras on this one.
