Valdese, NC – Valdese Celebrates 125 Years will hold two anniversary events on Saturday, May 26, 2018.

The first event will be Founders Day Festival held at the Les Phare Des Alps in Valdese beginning at 10AM. Founders Day Festival will include grape stomping, history of wine making, bocce lessons, and many more activities for children and adults to enjoy! The event will last until 2PM and is free for all who attend.

Festival Di Birra will be held from 3-7PM in the Waldensian Mill Hatley Room. Festival Di Birra is a beer festival sponsored by Highland Brewery and the American Legion Post of Valdese. Highland Brewery will be serving a variety of their beers, as well as the commemorative Valdese Kolsch, which was brewed specifically for the anniversary of Valdese. Whitewater Bluegrass Company will be providing music during the event, and Taco Bout It food truck will be on site if you get hungry. There will be an indoor bocce tournament, cornhole, and more! Tickets are available at the presale price of $25 until Friday, May 25th and can be purchased at Eventbrite.com. Tickets will be $30 and cash only at the door. Memorial Day Weekend is considered Founders Day Weekend because it is the week that the Original Settlers of Valdese arrived from Italy to create their permanent settlement. These events are part of the Town of Valdese’s year-long celebration of the 125th Anniversary.
