Newton, NC – The Newton Elks Lodge #2042 will host a Flag Day Service on Thursday, June 14th at their West J Street, Newton location. The service will celebrate the history of the seven official flags that have flown over the United States of America.

The Newton Scout Troop #383 will present the flags as their story is told.

Dave VanDerwerken, Americanism and Fraternal Committee Chairman for Newton Elks Lodge #2042, will conduct the informative and historical service.

Following the service, the Scout Troop will conduct a flag retirement ceremony to retire ALL soiled and tattered flags.

The Flag Day Service begins at 7 p.m. with refreshments served at 6:30 p.m. at the Lodge. The patriotic service is open to the public and all ages are encouraged to attend.
