Hickory – “Junk”, the musical about a yard sale and a mermaid, which was sold out for its entire original run, opens with a mainstage revival in the Jeffers Theatre on Friday, October 14th at 8pm.

In this Molly Bass original a jilted young woman is selling off the things her ex-boyfriend left behind, along with other items she’s collected over the years. Many of these things have a story. The fun kicks into high gear when the Ex shows up with his new girlfriend. She loves yard sales but neither of them realizes what they are in for at this one. Added to the antic stew are colorful yard-salers and pickers who keep the plot bubbling with laughter. The songs, with music and lyrics by Bass and Jeff Hartman, move the story in a fun and colorful manner.

Performances are Fridays and Saturdays (Oct 14, 15, 21, 22, 28 & 29) at 8pm, Thursdays (Oct 20 & 27) at 7:30pm and Sundays (Oct 23 & 30) at 2:30pm.

Tickets for Friday through Sunday performances are $20, with a $2 discount for seniors and half price for students and for youth 18 and under. Thursday night performances all adults are $16 and youth and students are $10. Tickets may be purchased online at hickorytheatre.showare.com or at the Theatre box office, which is open 12-5 Wednesday through Saturday, in person or by phoning 828-328-2283.
