Newton, NC – Planning for the 26th annual East Newton Heritage Festival is underway.
The East Newton Heritage Festival Committee is thrilled to invite the public to be part of the East Newton community’s big event while celebrating the homecoming of families and friends of Central High School. This unique event is scheduled for Saturday, June 25, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the East Newton ball field, located off N.C. Highway 16 at 301 Stadium Drive.
The East Newton Heritage Festival Committee has worked hard this year to set up exciting entertainment to fill the beautiful grounds surrounding the East Newton ball field, including gospel singing, step teams, praise dancers, the East Newton Heritage Festival Basketball Tournament, a church kick ball tournament, a petting zoo, an NAACP membership drive, face painting, a car show, and a community parade.
The East Newton Heritage Festival will have booths available for craftsman, food vendors, artists, churches, civic organizations and any individuals with talent to share.
A special award courtesy of the Newton Parks and Recreation Department will be given to the church with the most participation during the festival.
