Newton, NC – The Green Room Community Theatre is thrilled to present Chitty, Chitty, Bang, Bang – opening Friday, November 17, 2017 in the McCreary Theatre at the Old Post Office Playhouse in historic downtown Newton, NC.

One of the world’s favorite musicals, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang will have audiences of all ages flying high with its mixture of madness, intrigue, and exuberance. The show is based on the book by Jeremy Sams with Music & Lyrics by Richard M. Sherman & Robert B. Sherman

Can the lovable but wacky inventor Potts, along with his two children and the gorgeous Truly Scrumptious, outwit the bombastic Baron Bomburst who has decreed that all children be banished from his kingdom? What happens when the children are caught and imprisoned with other youngsters by the evil Childcatcher? Will it all end happily-ever-after? Well, of course it will!

Come experience this magical story as it comes to life on stage in a production perfect for the whole family!

Chitty, Chitty, Bang, Bang is produced by McCreary Modern.  It is directed by John David Brown III, and David Townsend with musical direction by Cathy Banner and choreography by Sara Lane.

Performance dates are  Nov. 17, 18, 19, 24, 25, 26, December 1, 2, 3, 2017, with Friday and Saturday shows at 7:30pm and Sunday matinees at 3:00pm.

Tickets go on sale to the public on Friday, Nov. 3, 2017, and can be purchased online at www.thegreenroomtheatre.org or by calling (828) 464-6128 Wednesdays – Fridays from 10:00 am – 5:30 pm.  Ticket prices are $16 for Adults, $14 for Seniors and Students, and $8 for children age 12 and under.  All ticket prices include NC sales tax.
