Hudson, NC – The Town of Hudson HUB Station Steering Committee is pleased to announce the homecoming of renowned author Jan Karon to her school community of Hudson. Events are scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 19 and Sunday, Oct. 20.

Events include a parade in downtown Hudson on Saturday, Oct. 19th, at 11:30 a.m. featuring Jan as grand marshal; and on Sunday, Oct. 20th, at 2:00 p.m., Jan will appear before a live audience onstage at the HUB Station Arts Center. The Sunday event requires a ticket and will include a live interview by Carl White of “Life in the Carolinas.”

Tickets for the Sunday event are available through Tix.com online at townofhudsonnc.tix.com and are limited to 285. Tickets are $30.00 each and will be required for admittance on Oct. 20. There will be no refunds.

In addition to the interview by Carl White, to be televised at a later date, attendees will have the rare opportunity to be in the presence of the author. Attendees will also witness dramatic readings by a few Mitford characters, hear reminiscences by Jan of growing up in a small town, and learn of the Town of Hudson’s intentions to honor her now and in the future. There will also be cake and tea and a reception line that allows each attendee to meet the author.

Jan – a #1 Wall Street Journal and New York Times bestselling author of over 25 million books – spent her early years in Hudson and attended Hudson School, the rebranded site of The HUB Station. It’s her official “Homecoming” to the town where her storied life began.

She is the author of the bestselling series of Mitford novels featuring Father Tim and the fictional village of Mitford. She has also written twelve other books, including a Mitford cookbook and several children’s books.
